See You Later Hopefully
Yesterday was the last day of school and my last day as a classroom assistant of a fifth grade class. It was the saddest week this year so far....not because I will not see the students everyday, but because my time has ended in their lives. I know that sounds really dramatic, but in all truth, I will most likely not see many of them ever again. Why does this bother me so? Because some of them flourished with myself and the teacher constantly watching them and pushing them to succeed. I fear for some of these students...their home lives only foster chaos and violence. However, now they are out of my hands. I hope to become a substitute in the same school district....so maybe the hard goodbyes were just see you laters...
