Leaving the nest
So I moved out in June from my parents home, and I thought it was going to be a piece of cake. I had been living in Japan for over a year by myself, so I thought, "6 hours away is really nothing compared to the whole Pacific Ocean." However, I was wrong! Hahaha Well the first week I just spent most of my days crying lol and feeling depressed. I did do som job hunting and I tried taking some classes online to distract myself; it helped. I believe the hardest thing to accept was the fact that I was and am growing up. NO more being a kid, or running to mom and dad for my problems. Of course, my fiance is amazing and on top of everything is super patient with me, but still it's continued to be a tough time.
Realizing that everyone is going there separate ways, and accepting the fact that you won't know everything that is going on in each others lives...this is something really tough for me, especially because I have to make new friends here in my new city. However, it has been surprisingly easy to join my fiance's circle of friends; they are very welcoming. The tough part is more adjusting to this pace and style of life here in Northern California. Yea I'm still in the same state, but really the culture is a bit different and it's so strange! It would almost feel as though I am in another state completely!
Anyways, back to the point, leaving the nest has been challenging. Just yesterday I was in tears, not even realizing how much I miss my life in socal until that embarrassing moment I was crying in front of the pastor. LOL I'm constantly having to turn to God in these situations and really rely that He is looking out for my best interest and that he knows what's going on!
Anyways, this is my first entry...not sure where this blog will take me but here goes a second shot at it!
Good luck in your new hometown! Moving to a new place is always pretty tough - but you'll be fine! I hope you can have lots of new and amazing experiences!!
