The thorn in my side...
So since I've come back from Japan, I've been living a different life. I don't eat the same and I don't act the same. WHY? I get asked so many times, when it comes to my diet. People here in the US, can't fathom not being able to eat all the fatty, acidy causing foods they love to consume everyday.
So I included a link above, to actually explain what I've been going through since February of this year. Every time I had attempted to explain it or call it by it's name people were like " What?" lol So hopefully, I educate some out there on what's going and it might be able to help them in their life.
My life since discovering this "condition" has been different. I was a food lover like almost any other American, or human being out there. My main things were spicy, creamy, and fatty things. I don't know how exactly I developed it, but I know that my poor diet while being in Japan, probably contributed to it. I was also working a high stress job, and really not doing anything physical to relieve any of the tension. All these factors, lead to my digestion getting screwed up.
Normally this "condition" develops in people who are overweight, that have a poor diet, and are typically in their middle ages. I guess I beat out all those! hahaha, besides that poor diet.
Anyways, I'm not on here to complain about my condition, but I am on here to educate people on the importance of watching what you eat, getting enough sleep, and caring about the ingredients in products.
I actually want to give thanks to GERD for helping me lose 10 pounds, for helping me to eat more healthy, and for overall opening my eyes to the disgusting processed food that is produced world wide, especially in the US. Granted of course I stil love it, but it makes me feel sick, so I have lost taste for it. I had to give up caffeine, spicy food, and soda, among other things as well. I think the one food that does make me sad, is not being able to eat anything with tomatoes in it.
I've learned so much about digestive health in the past few months and it's rather interesting how sensitive it can become if we don't take care of it. The main ingredient for me to feel better, if I start feeling nauseas, is APPLE CIDER VINEGAR! This is so good and helps calm my acid reflux down, but it also helps with the rest of the digestion process. Ginger and apples are also 2 things that help.
So again, this article is just to inform and to clear up some misconception of why I can't eat ice cream or chocolate, etc. I am also pushing through and not a victim, but a survivor, and working towards overcoming.
Anyways, until next time, I need to keep up with posting more!
I'm a very much older woman, possibly could be old enough to be your great grandma. Anyway for what it's worth I too left home when at 17 yrs. old got married. I Loved my husband too much and still do. Been married 62 yrs. I left a big city to live in a very small country town. At that time No hot water, no showers or bathtubs. The water had a bad odor like hard boiled eggs, still does. We've come along way since then. Many more s modern. I would cry a lot. I missed home, my family, friends, and church very much. I could tell you a lot more about my life but it would take too much space (like writing a book) and besides I don't think you would be interested about my life experiences.
